Our Story
Teacher Education is at the heart of Geeta College of Education. The College seeks to develop future teachers who possess not only sound academic knowledge but also professional competence, ethical values, communication skills, creativity, confidence and a sense of social responsibility.
The institution provides an academic environment in which student-teachers are encouraged to understand the principles of teaching and learning, develop effective classroom practices, use appropriate educational technology and cultivate the qualities required for becoming effective and responsible educators.
The College believes that a teacher's role extends beyond the classroom. A good teacher is also a mentor, facilitator, role model and lifelong learner. Therefore, the B.Ed. programme at the College aims at the holistic development of prospective teachers through academic activities, practical experiences, co-curricular programmes, seminars, workshops, sports and other educational activities.
History
Geeta College of Education was established in 2007 under the management of Geeta Shikshan Samiti, Butana, District Sonepat, Haryana. Since its establishment, the institution has been working in the field of teacher education with a focus on developing professionally competent and socially responsible prospective teachers.
Over the years, the College has developed its academic and physical infrastructure to provide an appropriate environment for teacher education. Its development has been guided by the objective of providing student-teachers with the facilities and learning experiences necessary for their professional preparation.
The College has established a supportive academic environment under the leadership of its Principal and qualified and experienced teaching faculty. The institution continues to focus on academic quality, professional development, discipline, practical learning and the overall growth of its student-teachers.
Today, Geeta College of Education continues its journey with the objective of strengthening teacher education and contributing meaningfully to the preparation of capable teachers who can positively influence learners, schools and society.
Faculty & Academic Environment
The College is supported by a qualified and experienced teaching faculty, along with its Principal, who collectively contribute to maintaining an effective academic environment.
Faculty members guide student-teachers in their academic studies, practical activities, teaching practice and professional development. The institution aims to create a learning environment where students can develop confidence, creativity, communication skills, classroom competencies and professional attitudes.
The College also encourages participation in seminars, workshops, co-curricular activities, practical work, educational activities and sports, thereby providing opportunities for students to develop beyond the boundaries of conventional classroom learning.
