Programme Outcomes

What a graduate of the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) at GCE Butana is expected to know, value and be able to do by the end of the programme.

Programme Outcomes (POs)

On completion of the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) programme, graduates will be able to:

  1. PO1

    Demonstrate sound content knowledge and pedagogical understanding of school subjects, and apply it effectively in classroom teaching.

  2. PO2

    Plan, design and deliver lessons using learner-centred, activity-based and inclusive teaching-learning strategies suited to diverse classroom contexts.

  3. PO3

    Understand the psychological, social and developmental characteristics of learners, and use that understanding to support individual learning needs.

  4. PO4

    Design and use appropriate assessment and evaluation tools to measure learning outcomes and provide constructive feedback to learners.

  5. PO5

    Integrate Information and Communication Technology (ICT) meaningfully into teaching, learning and professional practice.

  6. PO6

    Reflect critically on their own teaching practice and engage in continuous professional development as lifelong learners.

  7. PO7

    Demonstrate professional ethics, values, sensitivity to diversity and inclusion, and social responsibility as educators.

  8. PO8

    Communicate effectively with learners, colleagues, parents and the wider community, and work collaboratively within a school system.

Programme Specific Outcomes (PSOs)

Specific to the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) programme, graduates will be able to:

  1. PSO1

    Acquire the pedagogical content knowledge and practical teaching skills required to qualify as a professionally competent secondary/senior secondary school teacher, through structured teaching practice and internship in schools.

  2. PSO2

    Develop competence in the specific school subject(s)/methods of teaching chosen during the programme, including the ability to prepare lesson plans, teaching aids and assessment instruments appropriate to those subjects.

  3. PSO3

    Apply the principles of educational psychology, inclusive education and classroom management to create supportive, equitable and effective learning environments for children of diverse needs and backgrounds.

  4. PSO4

    Undertake basic educational action research to identify and address real classroom and school-level problems as part of reflective professional practice.

Structured per the outcomes framework used across NCTE-recognized B.Ed. institutions in India (built on the NCTE Regulations, 2014 and the National Curriculum Framework for Teacher Education, 2009), and reflecting this programme's actual structure: two years on the annual system, methods-subject pedagogy and school-based teaching practice and internship.
